Third-Party CYBER CLAIMS Administration AND CONSULTING

Cyber Expertise.
Human Care.

Cyber claims are unlike any other insurance claim. They are complex, dynamic (the many moving parts move fast!) and demand a  level of skill and technical expertise that takes years to build. Curovia was built by experienced cyber claims professionals who bring unique technical and legal knowledge, efficiency, and care to every cyber claim.  This care for handling cyber claims is the Curovia way.

Cyber claims expertise at this level
is rare. Deliberately rare.

Cyber risks and cyber insurance continues to grow at the speed of . . . . well, cyber! Cyber policy wordings and underwriting keep maturing, "best" practices for cyber resiliency continue to get better, and the risk landscape and blast radius expands daily. A cyber event can be the make-or-break event for any organization. Yet, the support and expertise required in the cyber claims process continues to be a pain point. Why?

Handling a cyber claim well requires a very specific kind of knowledge and skill set: insurance and technical acumen, urgency and efficiency, and empathy and care. That expertise and care is built through years of answering that ransomware call on a Friday afternoon, handling thousands of cyber claims (for the mom-and-pop, as well as the Fortune 100), knowing and working with dozens of incident response vendors, and constant repetitions of exercising sound judgment when the room is filled with panic and worry.

That expertise is difficult to find, harder to develop, and genuinely difficult for any organization to retain. Yet, claims is where the insurance promise is fulfilled - and there is no line of insurance where this is more true: the promise and purpose of the cyber policy lives through the claims process. Carriers and MGAs know this. Brokers and risk managers know this. It's one of the most honest conversations in the industry.

Purpose-built
for cyber claims.

Curovia is a third-party administrator built specially for cyber insurance. We partner with carriers, MGAs, and insurance providers to manage the full lifecycle of cyber claims with the expertise, speed, and care the line demands. We work with established operations that need a stronger claims partner, teams that need deeper cyber expertise alongside their own, and carriers building a cyber claims capability from the ground up.

Cyber Claims Management

We provide full end-to-end handling of cyber incidents of every type and complexity — from FNOL through final resolution, including triage, coverage analysis, vendor coordination, and litigation management.

Claims Consulting Services

Whether the goal is to build a cyber claims function from the ground up, or improve one already in place, we know what excellent looks like and can help through our cyber claims consulting services. We can develop SOPs, incident response panels, authority matrices, set out a reserving philosophy, build-out audit and regulatory frameworks. Why start from scratch when you can leverage our decades of cyber claims expertise instead?

Outsourced Cyber Claims Support

For carriers, MGAs, insurance providers without a dedicated cyber claims operation (or needing an outside team for overflow or specialty claims), Curovia integrates as your team: fully embedded, fully accountable, built to represent your brand with policyholders. You get a complete cyber claims operation without the cost, hiring challenge, or time it takes to build one internally.

Cyber Claims Insights and Reporting

Trend analysis and reporting on your claims handled by Curovia, benchmarked against industry data and preparation of reports as requested, including large loss reports and materials prepared for reinsurers and carriers.

Subrogation Management

Cyber losses often involve an ecosystem of third parties and Curovia manages claims to identify, investigate, and pursue subrogation opportunities throughout the claim's life.

Incident Response Vendor Panel Management

Curovia helps source, vet, negotiate competitive rates, and manage your incident response panel so that the panel teams are the best suited to efficiently assist the policyholder.

Training and Development of Cyber Claims Talent

It's no secret that good cyber claims talent is scarce and in high demand. We build and run training modules for new adjusters, experienced non-cyber adjusters upskilling into cyber, or a full team looking to sharpen its edge.

Claims-Derived Insights and Reports

We're obsessive about claims data, which we believe is the most valuable product the cyber insurance machine produces. Used well, claims data sharpens underwriting strategy, risk selection, and product design. Our experts work with your data, as well as leverage the industry-specific trends and reports, to produce bespoke insights to ensure insurance organizations optimize the value of claims.

Led by people who've
done this work.

Curovia was founded by operators with deep expertise and a shared conviction: that cyber claims deserve a better answer than the industry has been offering.

Theresa Le

Theresa Le

Co-Founder & President

Theresa Le has spent her career on the front line of cyber claims and founded Curovia because she kept seeing the same gap: cyber insurers without a claims partner built for cyber.

Before founding Curovia, Theresa was Chief Claims Officer at Cowbell Cyber, where she built and led the company's global cyber claims organization from the ground up, and where her team handled thousands of cyber incidents. She also led cyber claims at Swiss Re and AXA XL, giving her a rare vantage point across reinsurance, legacy carrier, and MGA claims operations.

Theresa's perspective is further shaped by over a decade as an insurance coverage attorney at leading law firms including Clyde & Co, Duane Morris, and Atheria, where she worked directly with dozens of cyber claims teams around the world, giving her a coverage-side fluency few claims leaders have. She also served as Global Head of Cyber Insurance at Booz Allen, rounding-out her experience with a deep understanding of the incident response ecosystem.

This combination of cyber claims leadership, insurance coverage law, and incident response makes Theresa a sought-after voice, resource, and mentor in the industry. Her speaking engagements include NetDiligence, ITC, Black Hat, RSAC, Cyber Risk & Insurance USA, the Insurance Information Institute, the California Surplus Lines Association, Claims Academy, and CLM. She also serves on the Zywave Advisory Board and is a Co-Chair of Net Diligence Miami 2027. And, she was recently nominated for Zywave's Incident Response Person of the Year (2026) and was voted Mentor of the Year at the Intelligent Insurer Awards (2026).

Chris Van Buren

Co-Founder & CEO

Chris's career has moved deliberately between insurance and technology: eight years in insurance, nine years in enterprise technology, and seventeen years building an insurance services business, putting him squarely at the intersection of what Curovia is building. He began his career in his family's insurance business, eventually acquired by CBIZ, then spent nearly a decade in technology, including a stint as the founder's right hand at Broadpeak, helping lead the company to its acquisition by DataLabs (later ClinPhone).

Most recently, he co-founded Embrook Benefits Consulting, building it from inception into a profitable advisory practice (leading business development, technology strategy, and partnerships) before its acquisition by KMRD Partners (later Foundation Risk Partners). The common thread across all Chris's successful ventures: pairing sound business fundamentals with early, deliberate adoption of technology and process. At Curovia, Chris leads strategy, capital formation, and operational build-out, bringing that same builder's instinct to a cyber claims organization designed to scale.
